Ski Season With a Tesla
Should you be concerned about skiing if you have a Tesla?
Winter is fast approaching us, and while some places are predicting a warm winter, we are already getting snow here in Utah and have skiing on the brain. Something that I get asked about a lot is how I manage ski season with my Tesla. The thoughts usually bounce around between concerns about charging, transporting skis and gear, and around driving in the weather. I am happy to tell you that on all of those fronts, my Tesla hasn’t let me down.
To be honest with you all, I was a bit nervous last year when I was first gearing up for skiing. I wasn’t sure how my Model Y would handle the snow and ice in the canyons, I was concerned about the battery dying and getting stranded, would my car even be able to carry all of my gear? After a bit of exploration I discovered that not only were those concerns invalid but that having a Tesla is quite the advantage during ski season. I will touch on that more here soon but let’s first talk about gearing up.
Transporting Gear
This is the piece that took me the longest to get right. At first I thought I would just order the Tesla rack and be good to go.
