Volunteer Center of Burlington County wants you to share your family volunteering story for inclusion in the special edition of the volunteer center’s e-newsletter in celebration of Family Volunteer Day, Saturday, Nov. 23.

Mason Moton shared his family’s experience with the volunteer center:

My family and I volunteer all of the time. You see, my mother operates her own not-for-profit organization, and with that, we are always busy. Everywhere we go we find people who want her baked goods. Luckily enough, she receives so many, there are enough for us to enjoy at home. You should see the surprised look on people’s faces when they hear my mother say, “there is no cost.” I love that moment.

Doing this food delivery to people really leaves an impression on all of us children. I know that for as long as I live, I will remember the generosity that flows from my mother’s heart. Other activities that we participate in are not as fun as our own family volunteer work. Nevertheless, they are positive memories. A good time can always be found in family volunteering events. Like my mother always says, “you are bound to get something in return whenever you volunteer.”

Deadline for submissions are Nov. 19 and should be emailed to volcenter@hotmail.com.
