Financial statements workshop for small business owners
When it comes to starting or running a successful small business, financial ignorance is not bliss. That’s why the Burlington County Library is teaming up with UCEDC, a statewide nonprofit economic development corporation, to offer a workshop about how to interpret financial data and use that data to make informed business decisions.
The session will be held at the County Library in Westampton on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and admission is free.
“Unfortunately, too many entrepreneurs are running their business on the fly — reacting hastily to perceived threats and opportunities without really understanding their financial performance,” saidJoan C. Divor, Business Services Librarian for the Burlington County Library System.
The savvy business owner knows how much it costs to be in business and uses that information to generate a profit.
“If you don’t know where to begin or are having trouble keeping up with your financial data, this workshop is for you,” added Denise Keller, UCEDC training officer. “We’ll help you understand the financial factors that drive your business and get you set up to predict and respond to changes in the marketplace.”
This informative session is open to both new and established small business owners. Online registration is available at www.ucedc.com/events. For more information, go to http://www.meetup.com/venturehubBCLS/ or call (609) 267–9660, ext. 3046.
