On April 19, Indian Mills Memorial School competed in the Burlington County 5th and 6th grade “Battle of the Books” for the first time. Even though it was their first time competing, the IMMS team took home 2nd place, beating out Doane Academy in an exciting tiebreaker. Bordentown won first place.

The students worked hard all year, reading 15 books and then quizzing each other on details about each novel.

“We were thrilled to take second place. This was our first year, so we were just happy to participate. The students worked so hard, and clearly that hard work paid off,” said Meghan Linck, School Media Specialist at IMMS.

IMMS’ s participation was funded by the Shamong Foundation for Educational Excellence.
