Letters from the Library
Dear Friends,
We certainly have had April showers, haven’t we? We just didn’t think they would be snow showers. Let’s tell Mother Nature that we are ready for some warmer spring weather.
There are so many new things at the library that I’ll get right to it. We have a new self-checkout for your convenience. It is just like at the supermarket. You scan your library book and swipe your card and Bingo! You are on your way.
Another of our new offerings is access to computers. If all the stations are in use or you want more freedom to move about the library while online, we now have Google Chrome. These are wireless devices that you are able to use anywhere in the library. They can be checked out at the front desk and be returned before leaving the building.
The April raffles are on display, and they are really exciting. For the adults it is all about gardening. There are hand tools, gloves and gardening books to guide you on your way. The children will get instruction also. It’s all about candy making with supplies and directions. There is also a contest involving guessing how many candies are in the jar. So much fun!
Now for a special presentation of our Movie Night, may the fourth be with you. On May 4 at 6 p.m. there will be a special showing of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy, and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them along with the help of the Resistance. Snacks and beverages may be served, but feel free to bring your own goodies and blanket to get comfy. Registration begins April 20.
Until next time, keep turning those pages or logging in!
