Seneca High School seniors J.J. Scarpello and Allison Lyons presented an overview of student and staff run events to the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education at the board of education meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
The event included the Give Kids the World trip, Play 4 the Cure charitable fundraiser, community Safe Trick-or-Treat, Student Council’s Holiday Toy Drive and Prom House 110 Carranza, as well as other philanthropic endeavors.
“Through looking back at what we do at Seneca, we hope to convey who and what we are as a school and a community,” Scarpello said.
Additionally, they highlighted how each experience helped the students of Seneca High School make an impact on the local community and beyond.
Scarpello, a resident of Shamong, intends to major in business economics with a minor in science or another business interest. He has applied to Lehigh University, Lafayette College and Carnegie Mellon University, in addition to several Ivy League schools.
Lyons, a resident of Tabernacle, will attend Rowan College at Burlington County in their Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, eventually pursuing a career as an ultrasound technician. She is the National Honor Society president and is Seneca’s Student Council corresponding secretary.
