On Saturday, Feb. 22, Shamong Cub Scouts Pack 47 held its annual “Pinewood Derby.” The cafeteria of the Indian Mills Elementary School was full of excitement as fun was had by all. The scouts raced their cars after weeks of hard work and fine-tuning. The scout-made cars looked like tanks, guitars, skateboards, forks and other unique designs.

Medals were handed out in the following categories:
Best Paint Job- Jude Lugiano
Craftsmanship- Aidan Koederitz
Looks Least Like a Car- Keegan Sokorai
Most Creative- Will Feldschar

Trophies were handed out for speed to the following:
First place- Chase Donovan
Second place- Logan Barrett
Third place- Michael Mckeown

This is an example of the many fun things the cub scouts do. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn while having fun with the scouts. Sign your son up and volunteer your time. We would love to have you. If interested in joining the cub scouts, contact Brian Barrett at bcbn1@verizon.net
