Shamong EMS to host CPR program
The program will be held on Nov. 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Eighty percent of cardiac arrests happen in the home and though EMS get there as fast as they can, the sooner CPR is started the better the chances are for an improved outcome.
This program will cover adult, child and pediatric CPR, including AED use, rescue breathing and what to do when someone is choking.
This course is being offered free of charge to Shamong residents to learn the skills needed in a cardiac or choking emergency, though donations are appreciated.
If you want to obtain a course completion card along with the skill there will be a charge.
Shamong residents obtaining an AHA card will be charged $40, non-residents obtaining an AHA card will be charged $55 and non-residents not obtaining a card will be charged $15.
In order to maintain a good student to instructor ratio space is limited. The program will be held at the Shamong EMS Squad Building located at 48 Willow Grove Road on Nov. 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Please sign up quickly by contacting shamongemscpr@gmail.com or (609) 268–2665.
