Shepherd High School Announcements 12/8/2015

From Shepherd High School

Here are your announcements for Tuesday, December 8th.

  • Student Mentors: There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 11:30 a.m. in the Auditorium. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bellinger in room 101.
  • The high school drama club and the choral department are once again teaming up to bring you our annual high school musical. This year’s show is “The Addams Family Musical,” and will be performed in mid-March. Auditions for “The Addams Family Musical” are next Tuesday, December 15. The sign up list for auditions is outside the choir room. You need to prepare a monologue, and a short song. This is a large cast, and we will need a lot of people. If you’ve never done drama or theater before, this would be an excellent way to get started.
  • It’s that time of the year again. It’s time to start thinking about the annual Shepherd High School Talent Show. Auditions will be the second week of January, and the show itself will be February 11. Audition sign up list is outside the choir room. This year’s winners will represent Shepherd High School in the TVC Talent Show in March.
  • ReplayIt Yearbook Photos. With ReplayIt, you can see and share your school’s photos all year long. Upload pictures to the yearbook staff, and see the memories as they happen. replayit.com
  • Last night was a hard fought battle between the Mustangs of Sanford Meridian and our own fighting Lady Jays. Kourtney Crawford lead the team with 20 points, but it took a good free throw performance by the team in the 4th quarter to earn a great victory 41–34.
  • The varsity girls basketball team got on the winning track last night by defeating Sanford Meridian 45 to 21. The girls jumped out to a 19 to 3 lead at halftime and never looked back. Carey Smith led the way with 8 points and 5 rebounds while Katelyn Hutchinson dropped in 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Shavonne Shanteau, Lydia Neyer and Sam Travis all had 6 points each. Lydia Neyer also grabbed 8 rebounds. The Lady Jays are back in action Thursday when they travel to Hemlock to take on the Huskies. Game time is 7:30.
