The Shift — Exploring The Workplace

I’ve taken an interest in the places where people work.
I’ve often pondered on how people work, from the 9–5ers to the global freelancers to the 1am email-enthusiasts, and how what works for some, might not work for others. I’ve also thought a lot about how brands are built, how values are set and how companies evolve.
My curiosity geared me into holding a series of interviews with people and brands that have their own unique way of doing things.
So here is, The Shift Journal.
As part of The Shift, I’ll be exploring the future of the workplace and how cultures are formed. Everything from two-man bands to global teams. I’m going to be (well, I’ll certainly try to be) tapping into some of the most complex and vibrant brands across a range of industries, to get a real grasp on how they’re designing an environment that embraces new ideas, challenges traditional roots and how they’re evolving alongside the next-gen of the workforce.
People are beginning to question whether traditional offices will exist in years to come, horror stories have been released stating that most jobs will be nonexistent because robots are slowly but surely taking over the world and co-working spaces are beginning to pop up on the corner of high-streets at least once a week*.
Here, I’ll be digging a little deeper and writing about what’s really going on.
*No reference to validate that stat, but I think we can all agree that it sounds like it could be true.
