Spinoza On Love

Love is hate’s reflection. Hate can only be defeated with love.

Spinoza on Ethical Behaviour

You should first and foremost, when discussing with anyone, seek to understand.

Spinoza On People of Reason

People governed by reason want nothing for themselves they wouldn’t want humanity to have as well.

Spinoza on Fate and Expectations

If you see things as determined you cannot complain, it is part of the whole of eternity. Nietzsche has to step in here and offer in a beautifully put way: “that which is necessary does not offend — amor fati — it is the core of my nature.

Spinoza on the Law

It is meant to keep us in check. We are governed by our passions at times and they must be restrained, if this weren’t the case, then the law would not be necessary.

Spinoza on the State

They are meant to facilitate free reasoning. Most certainly he had democracies in mind.

Spinoza on the Ignorant vs the Wise

The wise are always conscious and seek satisfaction of the mind. The ignorant do not.
