Red is my colour, it’s fiery, strong, attractive! So I came across this bowl of red Cheetos at work, it looked so, so, so inviting that I thought of giving it a try and oh man, they were addictive. I did some research on them and so it happens that there is a big story behind these delicious fiery things!

The history of Hot Cheetos

There was this guy who was working as a janitor at the Frito Lays HQ who is btw now a Millionaire because of this!!! Interesting right? So I did some more digging and it happens so that Richard Montañez, was an immigrant who grew up in Southern California and as he worked as a janitor a machine broke down and a batch of Cheetos weren’t dusted with the orange powder. Montañez took these pale Cheetos home to experiment with them. He got inspired by the neighbourhood street vendor who served Mexican grilled corn. He then decided to flavour the plain Cheetos with chilli and lime and served them to his family and friends. And Bam! they were a hit. He then decided to pitch the product to the CEO, all this without having any prior knowledge or understanding of business. The CEO was blown away and that was the day that Flamin’ Hot Cheetos were born.

But I want to be a millionaire too!

I find this story so inspiring! I want to be a millionaire too!!! I have so many ideas that I’m sure will work too! If he can do it why can’t I! So I did some brainstorming and the first idea that comes to my mind is why not have salmiakki flavoured Cheetos as we are in Finland! You have absolutely everything in salmiakki flavour in Finland-from chocolates to ice cream to vodka. Then why not Cheetos? That would be something! Don’t you dare steal my idea!! ok seriously. There are so many unexplored flavours; perhaps some butter chicken flavoured Cheetos! Imagine a cold winter day, you are sitting in a couch watching a movie and you have these amazing butter chicken flavoured Cheetos……umm sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Or Honey caramel Cheetos. Nothing beats a sweet and salty snack! Or how interesting will be to have some beer flavoured Cheetos? That would definitely be a best seller, I can assure you.

So many ideas and they are not only limited to just flavours of Cheetos, maybe an extended arm which helps you to work uninterrupted and you have clean fingers. How does that sound?

Idea Development Week

Ok if you have an idea like this (ok, let’s face it, it probably won’t be as good as mine) you can join The Shortcut’s Idea Development Week this second week of March, starting from 11th -15th.

It has multiple workshops that go from everything from how to shape ideas to how to pitch your project. You can work on your ideas in teams and then pitch them to an experienced jury and get feedback.

Do you have a business idea for a high growth startup? Want to find a team to work with? Or do you just want to figure out if you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? You don’t need to have an idea already, you can come to learn and apply whatever you learn here later.

Come check it out you might just be the next Millionaire!!!
