Things to love, learn from, and appreciate about Prince…
- Prince celebrated the colors of life. (Reflected in the mural painted in his honor, shown here) Think “Purple Rain,” (his signature color), his colorful costumes — often in androgynous style, his guitars, his music, his creativity and individuality.
- His princely, yet approachable, persona and smile.
- How he often worked closely with and promoted women in music, throughout his expansive career.
- I personally love that he maintained a deep connection with his hometown of Minneapolis, and state of Minnesota, all his life.
- His talent! In songwriting, performing, producing, and film making. He also composed for others, including: “Manic Monday” for the Bangles, “I Feel For You” for Chaka Khan, and “Nothing Compares 2 U” for Sinéad O’Connor. (Mental Floss Magazine)
- He regularly showed up for and participated in the community of humankind.
- Prince lived life on his own terms, with courage and originality.
