‘A Moment’ — Short Poem

A poem I wrote last week that I wanted to share with you all.

Context: during a stresfull and unmotivated mindset at work, I gaze the sun through the window for a second. I decided to capture this moment through words, not a photo.

With swift stillness this scene I gaze

A second of life taken through the haze

A snapshot I preserve at this time

Whilst I view my work with sunshine

Through this single fraction

I choose to break my typing action

To take in the motionless surrounding

And think over this unimpressive finding

“Nothing special” … I then think

But who decides what is special or not

There is no judge of thought today

And as I go back to my juvenile reality

I then bypass what I thought was a mentality …
