Akbar and Birbal Stories (Part 1)
Birbal counted the crows in the kingdom
One beautiful morning, Akbar and Birbal were strolling through the king’s garden. When Akbar noticed the crows in his garden, he pondered the number of crows throughout his realm.
He asked Birbal the query. After discussing it for a while, Birbal declared, “Your Majesty, there are ninety-two hundred and forty-nine crows in the kingdom.”
His exact number and prompt response astounded Akbar. Akbar posed the question, “What if there is a higher number of crows than the number you just mentioned?”.
Sir, in response, Birbal said, “Then, crows from the neighboring kingdoms must be visiting their relatives.”
“What if the number is fewer than what you mentioned?” Akbar then inquired. With composure, Birbal answered, “Then, the crows must have gone on a vacation to the neighboring kingdom.”
