The Shortform

An Ambiguous Ethereal Enigma

On this, I ruminate

Photo by Jonatan Pie on Unsplash

A louring welkin, blackened as we excurse the hinterland
Punctiliously shuffling so to bilk perils, real and imagined
A family, only minutes earlier visiting a patriarch
Weary and ragged, clinging together, hand-in-hand against
But not a quotidian night
Is this optical chicanery
Luminosity, suspended luminosity, a stone’s throw atop a nearby edifice
Never before, never since
