Are There Paws In Your Bed?

If you have a dog or cat, both, or multiples of both, you’ve had to face the question of whether the pet(s) sleep in your bed. If you’re single, it’s your decision (unless we’re talking cats, and then it’s up to them).

If you’re in a relationship, this can be a touchy subject. Maybe you adore your dog and have slept with him every night for the past three years, but your new partner thinks he hogs the covers and snores too loudly. If you kick the dog out of bed, she’ll know it’s really you doing those things.

Moving forward:

• This is dangerous territory. Proceed with caution.
• Discuss your feelings.
• Listen to your partner’s points.
• Flipping a coin won’t work.
• Compromise.
• Beware — you could be the one who ends up on the floor.
