Last week in my mindfulness study group, we discussed chasing things that don’t truly fulfill us — status, recognition, the elusive “next big thing.” How often have I let the promise of something more drown out the melody of what actually matters?

While reading through my notes over the weekend, I realized it’s easy to get drawn into the chase.

And yet, fulfillment can’t be chased down. Fulfillment and happiness are lived.

For the past few days, I’ve wondered: What am I really sacrificing for the things I think I want? Am I chasing shadows?

I’ve been meditating on these ideas, and I have thoughts.

Fam, I’m curious. Are you chasing shadows?

*Chasing shadows is an idiom meaning trying to achieve something that does not exist.
