Would it be weird to play David Bowie’s albums when he came for dinner?

I’d play Low and ask him how he reinvented himself so successfully again. What advice could a person who changed so many times give to me, a person going through a transition? What could he teach me about longevity?

I’d tell him that I found Low at a time of stagnation. And it felt fresh and exciting, like nothing else in my life. His evolving art an inspiration.

I’d put on Let’s Dance and tell him how it was the soundtrack to my move to a different country. My escape from the stagnation. Now completely intertwined with my memories of that place. The place I met my wife.

I’d apologize for only listening to Blackstar once. The day before he died. Too sad to listen again.
