Don’t Let The Algorithm Dictate What To Write About
Stay true to yourself
I know it’s not easy to resist to create solely for the algorithm or curation team on the platform you’re writing on.
There are so many top writers who once wrote for the algorithm or about the topics that were trending to boost their followers but now start from scratch on another platform simply because they learned that followers are a dead metric.
Even with 80,000 followers or more only a few will see you — unless you regularly engage with them in the comments, stay in contact, build deep connections and offer to share your messy stories.
Ask yourself:
- What’s my creative mission and vision?
- What’s my end goal?
The end goal will never be having 100,000 followers, the end goal is in most of the cases freedom.
This freedom only happens if you write about the topics you want to write about. Topics that light you up.
