“Patience is the greatest prayer” — Buddhist saying.

Today’s quote reminds us that difficult circumstances and experiences are impermanent and that patience can be our best ally.

But patience doesn’t mean passively waiting. It’s not about resigning ourselves to a passive state of acceptance.

This patience is about enduring hardships while cultivating resilience and a positive attitude. It’s about sitting in an impossibly cold and dark room, with the fierce fire of hope and courage burning inside us, pushing us forward to the inevitable future of things changing.

This patience is about active compassion towards ourselves just as much as others. Compassion that will often manifest as forgiving ourselves.

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Those that endure suffering are often the ones best positioned to touch the lives of others. In helping others heal, we might find ourselves healed as well.
