I plan to visit New York this fall. To avoid making a mistake. I read about a famous man who was recently there. From that reading, I came up with a list of four things not to do while in the city. It is not a complete list, but it is a start. I don’t want to make a fool of myself.

Ride an escalator and then complain about it in a speech, even if the escalator breaks down while I’m on it.

Deny climate change. New Yorkers know better.

Insult Europeans by telling them that their countries are going to hell. I was in Europe this summer. Europe isn’t going to hell.

Condemn immigration. More than half of New Yorkers are immigrants.

Interested in more advice? Just don’t act like you know who.
