Becoming a better version of you in the coming year isn’t necessarily about setting big, audacious goals. It’s more about identifying the actions that will most impact your life if done consistently, over time, and then doing them— consistently, over time.

I like to work on a week-by-week basis. You can also break it down to daily, weekly and monthly actions. Depending on where you are and where you want to be this might look like:

Daily

  • Take 5,000 steps
  • Eat at least one healthy meal
  • Practice a new skill for 10 minutes

Weekly

  • Save $20
  • Write and publish one article
  • Apply for one new job

Monthly

  • Read one book
  • Travel to one new place
  • Attend one important workshop or training, online or off

Action over planning. Habits over goals. Progress will happen.
