Beautiful sugared tarts rest on a dark-glazed plate on a rustic wood table, next to a red drink in a mug topped with a pretty heart-shaped cream garnish, and a few green bows, pine cones, and red apples.

Let’s rap about a sweet, peaceful holiday season. For our fams, in all that togetherness! And all the ways we humans tend to see life differently. We want our sweet times together. We neeeed them.

What to do about potential sour notes? First, let’s agree this question is worth asking. Because our expectations can be ginormous. Including favorite childhood memories… old disappointments we still and always long to make for… And that’s just us, right? With how many other quirky souls in the mix?

So I put together what follows after years of managing this stuff in my own precious/messy life. May it make a difference in the thick of your blessed, messy-sweet holiday fam-time…

xo,
Teresa
