I Just Joined Mastodon — Here’s Why
For over a decade, Twitter has been my favorite platform. That’s changing.
I just joined Medium’s instance (or server) on Mastodon and was immediately met with a lot of users “favoriting” and “boosting” my first post.
Why I joined Mastodon
What I love about Mastodon is no one company or person owns it.
The rise of decentralized social networking is gaining momentum as the internet begins to shift back to “smaller” communities. The social media era of everyone on one platform is ending, I think.
But what makes Mastodon fun is you can connect with people on different servers — all around the world. Don’t like any of the instances, then you can set up your own with your own house rules.
