I had run one or multiple personal blogs for over 13 years. Just last month, I retired the last one. In favor of Medium. My domain now redirects to my Medium homepage. Major step? Here are 5 reasons why I did it:

  1. It was a hassle: Maintaining WordPress, updating the theme, and staying on top of current web design trends.
  2. Nobody cared: My blog never had high views. Medium is crazy compared to that.
  3. It was a full-time job: Without pay that is.
  4. Competition was miles ahead: All. The. Time. At least that’s how it feels like.
  5. SEO sucks: The life and joy out of you. Unless you love SEO. I don’t.

My solution: Going full in on Medium. I’ve received more views and earned more money here than I ever have on a WordPress blog.
