Do you know what’s the difference between a relationship you have with a follower and a community?

If you build a relationship with a follower it’s a 1-to-1 conversation.

If you build a community you’ll connect this one follower with others so you’ll create a 1-to-many conversation.

In the long run this will help you not feel burnt out…

because the bigger your following and the number of comments and likes get, the more you’ll struggle to find time to reply to everyone.

If you create a space where people can connect, this can be a Discord channel, a publication or WhatsApp group, the focus isn’t on you anymore. It’s on building relationships with others and maybe even finding friends.

You’ll still be the reason why they joined the community. But they’ll stay for the people.

So always try to build a community around your writing.
