If You Could Recreate a Moment

One morning I took my dogs out at 4 a.m. like usual. They were tromping around the backyard and I followed my little one. I froze.

Standing in the middle of the street, a deer stared back at me. We contemplated each other for minutes. (I don’t carry my cell with me to catch a picture of my dogs taking care of business.) What picture that would have been.

Darryl Brooks said “at least you have the memory” and many times, that’s all we have. If you could recreate a memory, which one would you choose? One more visit with your mother? A favorite moment…
