If there’s one thing that’s been cemented in my brain from my mom, it’s that everyone isn’t your friend.

Titles, so to speak, like a friend or best friend, shouldn’t be given so loosely.

It’s something that needs to be earned.

Before handing it out, really get to know that person.

And understand signs and characteristics of fake friends:

  • always need something from you
  • they’re overly competitive with you
  • they don’t celebrate wins with you
  • they drain your energy
