Whilst consuming my homemade sandwich, one of the many pleasures of remote working, I’m always looking for something interesting to do.
The other day, having run out of practically everything else on the company website, (Microsoft monitors my web usage and sends it to the CEO so non-approved websites are out of bounds), I discovered the company ‘employee manual’.
Apparently, when not ‘in the office’ it’s required that I change my email settings to ‘out of office’ and set a date when I’ll be back.
As I’m a full remote worker I was obliged to turn it on immediately and haven’t had an email since.
My productivity has skyrocketed, stress levels have plummeted, and I feel like a model worker now I’m more closely adhering to company doctrine.
