Is This The End of Community on Medium?

And yet some writers continue to earn well while the rest of us are minting cents.

❓I’ve received messages from writers telling me their posts are earning cents. Mine are too despite people reading.

❓Some writers reported being unscathed by the recent crackdown on ‘non-genuine’ engagement.

👉I’ve been here since 2021 working hard to build a community. I’m as genuine as they come. My posts usually have good engagement mostly from other writers.

But now, is Medium favoring pure readers over writers engaging with each other?

Since Scot Lamb mentioned the most money will go to the ‘most genuine writers,’ does it mean those of us who are proponents of community have no value anymore? Or are the most genuine writers the boosted ones aka the ‘chosen ones?’

As you can see I’m bitter and demotivated. Medium brought in engagement as a factor in earnings and now they want to hold it against us?

❓How are writers supposed to get visibility here?
