Put your link in the comments

LinkedIn — the go-to site for business connections — has a dirty little secret:

If you put an external link in the body of your post, LI will limit its distribution.

Damn.

So how do you guide all your LinkedIn readers to your site, your event, your course, your latest-and-greatest product offering?

Take a tip from Tim Denning, master of writing online and making huge connections to new and devoted readers, not to mention making the big bucks.

Put your link in the comments section, and make sure you’re the first commenter.

Say everything you want in the post or article, sans any outgoing links. As soon as you post it, go into the comments and write a response that includes the outgoing link you want to drive readers to.

LI will still distribute far and wide.

Brilliant, right?
