The car honked furiously at high decibels, but the lanky dog ignored it.

Welcome to the world of stray quadrupeds — an indispensable part of this commuting community.

Often, you find a cow skillfully creating subtle patterns on the road from an otherwise potential bio-energy source. Or a pack of dogs involved in ‘who-is-superior’ bouts to woo their female counterparts.

It’s common to see stray animals recklessly crossing the road without paying attention to traffic signals and vehicles. If you intrude on their personal space, they meet you with an indignant gaze, as if you have made a case for prosecution against the violation of individual rights.

But why are they rendered to live a life of condemnation? Why do they have to live precariously at the mercy of some external reflexes?

After all, they also own a right to live freely, as bestowed by nature.
