Losing Weight Before Christmas
The hardest thing
The past nine months have been eventful with funerals, operations, and diagnoses, but also the birth of a second grandchild.
I have just, for want of a better word, celebrated my 63rd birthday and this is usually the point in the year that my mood turns. The days are getting darker and colder and time grows short. Autumn is not called the Fall for nothing.
To escape the dreary season for a little longer we have planned a week in Crete. The way we are feeling just now, however, it feels like a cross between a chore and a risky ride. We looked up the hospital nearest our hotel.
I manage my mood with food and drink but my body is no longer cooperating. Maybe Crete will offer a last hurrah.
