Medium’s Resident Copycat Strikes Again!
For months, one writer has been getting away with plagiarizing and profiting off other people’s content.
Fellow Medium writer Annie Wegner previously pointed out that he had plagiarized one of her stories, including her screenshots, without any attribution.
Some writers on the platform have hypothesized that he may be using a content spinner in order to repurpose work of other people without running into copyright claims.
Every article he “writes” begins with an existing piece with only minor modifications made. He might change a few words here and there or rearrange points, but his work is mostly a copy-and-paste operation.
He seems to preferentially target articles in the niches of productivity, entrepreneurship, and self-improvement.
People who engage in this kind of egregious behavior need to be called out and held accountable. Such a blatant violation of platform rules shouldn’t be rewarded.
