One Street and Two Icons
We all need some succour wherever we may find it
Conflict in the Middle East. Election-related uncertainty in the States. Riots in the UK.
The world is not an easy place to live in right now. Especially if one’s of a sensitive nature.
Thankfully we have M’n’M (Madge and Malala) to bail us out of this sad state of affairs. Or at least their 2D images. Immortalised on a wall on Cross Street, Islington.
The mind boggles as to what a young Malala would have made of the Queen of Pop had the former been around circa 1990, when Madonna was at the height of her powers as a boundary-breaker.
Methinks the Afghan heroine would have been on the front row of Madge’s Blond Ambition tour. Because that’s what icons do. Knock down barriers.
