Don’t pussyfoot around, give it to me straight!
No one likes to be rejected. To be told what they don’t like about you or your passion — writing, in this case — can be devastating.
Until it’s not.
Grow a thick skin
Your writing is an extension of you, but subject to interpretation. What you see in it, someone else might not. And vice versa.
Don’t be offended or allow the opinions of others to hurt you. Be proud your words fired them up. Good or bad, it means your words matter!
Three Hard Truths
Criticism…
… makes me a better writer.
Rejection letters…
… are reminders of my courage in opening myself up to that criticism.
Critique partners…
… show me where my words work and where they don’t.
… keep me humble.
… make me laugh when writer’s block hits.
So, please, I beg you
REJECT ME!
