Emotions are like the ebb and flow of ocean waves, that control our thoughts and actions.

How to deal with it?

  • Don’t be clingy in relationships. Building trust and respect goes a long way in dealing with insecurities and differences.
  • Be mindful of your emotions and watch for any changes in your behavior when dealing with triggers. Pause and reflect before responding.
  • Set aside some time of the day to engage with your passions.
  • Maintain a disciplined healthy lifestyle. Exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep help in physical and emotional well-being.
  • Avoid negative influences — be it people, things, or the environment.
  • Avoid being self-centered. View situations holistically by letting go of any prejudices or biases.
  • Practice empathy over sympathy.
  • Active Listening — first seek to understand, then to be understood.
  • Enjoy life in moments. Don’t fret about the troubled past or future uncertainties.
