The Best Years of Your Life
I often ask my Chinese students about their experiences with school. Today, I put a simple question to three classes: “What is high school like in China.”
To which the immediate answer each time was even simpler: “Prison.”
It’s something I plan to keep in mind the next time some pundit fawns over the “wonderful” Chinese education system and longs for American schools to be more like them…
