A few years back, right after my kids graduated high school, I found myself surrounded by stacks of SAT, ACT, and AP prep books. Heavy books, some barely cracked open, others worn from long nights of studying.

I considered selling them — maybe they’d fetch a decent price. But honestly? The hassle didn’t feel worth it.

Instead, I snapped a photo of the pile and posted it across my friends’ WhatsApp groups. “Does anyone want these?” I asked, hoping they’d find a home where they’d be truly useful. Only a couple of friends messaged me, but that was all I needed to clear them out.

One less thing on my shelf; one more tool for another student.

It felt good, knowing they’d get a second life instead of just sitting on our shelves.

Do you have books gathering dust that someone else might need?
