The Importance of Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding

Application is the key

These words are related but they are also different. They build upon each other though.

  • Knowledge is information.
  • Understanding is comprehension.
  • Wisdom is application.

Wisdom is the most important of all three. You should put what you learn into practice. Having all of the knowledge and understanding of that knowledge won’t do you any good if you don’t have the wisdom to apply it in your life.

I can come up with all kinds of ideas and plans but when it comes to actually implementing the knowledge into my life, I tend to fall short.

Fear of failure can be the reason for not following through. But you have to overcome that fear and use your knowledge to benefit you and others.

I was told when I was younger "If you're the smartest person in the room, you need to go to another room."
