Balmoral Pyramid by the author

Would you believe it if I say there is a Pyramid in Scotland? Probably not. I was totally surprised when I heard about it too.

This pyramid is located in the Cairngorms National Park quite close to the Balmoral castle. Balmoral castle is where the royal family typically spend their Christmas. It was purchased by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria in 1852.

The Balmoral pyramid is one of the 11 cairns which is constructed by Queen Victoria and this one especially commemorate Queen Victoria’s love for Prince Albert.

“To the beloved memory of Albert the Great and good; Prince consort, erected by his broken-hearted widow Victoria R. 21st August 1862.”

You can park at the car park at the entrance of the Balmoral car park and make your way up to the cairns. It’s a bit of a long hike, but the views are worth it.
