And just like that, as Thanos did with half the world’s population, Microsoft has snapped away the Xbox Game Pass one-dollar trial offer days before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

There appears to be a pattern here.

For the uninitiated, Xbox Game Pass, the Netflix-style, “all-you-can-eat” gaming subscription service, has offered this enticing one-dollar door crasher for almost the entirety of the service, but Xbox made waves in late August last year when they quietly removed the cheap offer before the launch of their highly-anticipated game Starfield.

Now, just mere days before the launch of their newly acquired first-party studio game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the first Call of Duty game to launch day-and-date on the service, Xbox has turned the offer to dust.

Déjà vu.

Will the one-dollar deal return?
