“Words Kill, Words give life; They’re either poison or fruit. You choose.”
Proverbs 18:21

Words have power and we should use them responsibly. Here are three simple questions that help you do that the next time you speak.

1. “Is it true?”

Do not speak based on assumptions, speak only what you know is true. Honesty saves everyone’s time.

2. “Is it kind?”

Anger brings out the worst in us and we always say inconsiderate things when we are angry so it is important to remind yourself to speak only what is kind. Do not lose your cool even when people are mean to you.

3. “Is it necessary?”

Your words do not always have to be important or inspiring every time you speak, but they should be required. Remember, silence is also a response and sometimes the best response there is.
