You may be naturally talented. You may be capable of doing things that others cannot even comprehend, let alone accomplish. People who know you well may have high expectations from you.

However, to fully harness your potential and make something of your latent talent, you must first have the desire.

If you do not have the desire, you will achieve little in your life. This desire to prove yourself over and over again has to come from within. It cannot be inculcated.

Again, to have this desire, you need to first take yourself seriously. You need to have the urge to show the world the stuff you are made of.

Unless you take yourself seriously, no one will. By lacking a seriousness of purpose, you not only allow others to judge you, but also do your innate ability a great disservice.
