But how/why to find the motivation to push through a boring task?

  1. Seeing it as a critical life skill

Treat “doing boring stuff well” as another life skill you build through practice and soon you will have a definite competitive advantage

2. Lesser competition in boring spaces:

“Gusto” is a successful startup that makes payroll software.

Payroll softwares sucked but nobody before Gusto tried making one because it was boring.

3. Give an initial push, you might find reasons to like it

Perceivably boring stuff can sometimes turn out to be more interesting than we thought. Give it an initial push.

4. Associate boring part of the work with outcome

Example —Struggle with everyday workout?

Visualize the distance reduced towards fitter you. (see the image above)
