Depression represents the loss of hope.

It’s apathy towards life due to living in a situation you don’t enjoy.

This apathy can affect rich people because the lifestyle of a rich person isn’t always equivalent to maximizing your enjoyment.

But a rich person is more likely to have hope for their life.

Anxiety represents being overwhelmed.

Too much is going on, so the brain works to get out of the situation by shutting down.

This shutdown is why anxiety is correlated with suicide (more than depression) because the brain will find a way out by any means.

Even when that means pulling the plug.
