What makes something good?

Philosophers have had long discussions on the concept of good. From Ancient Greece (Aristotle, Socrates, Plato) till this decade of the 21st century (Jordan B. Peterson), defining good remains one of the most anticipated topics for humans.

A very simple thought can define good.

To understand what is good, understand what is bad because the exact opposite of bad is good.

To understand the concept of God, understand the concept of the Devil because the exact opposite of the Devil is God.

Bad plays as an opposing factor and puts good in perspective. The measuring criteria at hand for good is bad. In a world where everything is good, whatever the level of good may be, it will be normal for that world. One cannot compare good with good.

Bad makes good, good.
