Imagine getting offered an opportunity you really wanted. Imagine still being disappointed.

It’s weird being disappointed after good news. You should be proud, but you can’t help but feel like you could have done better. It’s like being the runner-up, and it’s tough not to compare yourself to others.

Sometimes, we become so consumed by our dreams that we forget why we started pursuing them. While feeling disappointed is normal when things don’t go as planned, we must remember that new opportunities are always on the horizon.

It’s also okay to feel down in the moment, but second place is a fantastic position to be in.

Disappointment can be a valuable experience, teaching us to be grateful for what we have. So, don’t let it consume you, and don’t justify it. Rather let it motivate you to keep pushing forward.

Experience the emotion and then, look to the future.
