“It was supposed to be my party. I invited the people I wanted there.” Dorie grabbed a black turtleneck.

“It was.” Jenna examined a black leather skirt.

“Then Hanna shows up — like she always does. Like anyone invited her.”

“Someone must have.” Jenna draped another skirt over her arm.

“She brought me flowers. Flowers that needed a vase and water. So she could steal my boyfriend.”

“Hanna was just being polite, bringing you a gift. And? You can’t steal someone who doesn’t want to go.”

Dorie glared at her best friend.

“Who’s side are you on?”

“Yours. You know that. Why is this such a big deal?”

“Kevin won’t answer my texts. He’s not home either.”

“He’s probably at a work site.”

“Yeah — Hanna.”

“I’m going to try these on.” Jenna headed for the dressing room.

“I’ll be there in a minute.”

In the dressing room, Jenna texted: CALL DORIE.
